During the production process of the episode a number of audio files will be created. See the Timeline in How we make podcasts for more information.

The responsibility here is to take the strands of audio and mix them together into an engaging episode.

You'll work closely with the Producer and Production assistant who will identify audio snippets to use.

The final episode

The output is a .mp3 file that can be published as a podcast. It should be to high audio quality (equalisation, background noise reduction etc.).

Throughout the editing process you should work with the Producer and Project leader to discuss ideas for making the episode engaging, such as transition sounds and other audio to communicate emotion and feeling into the show.
